Our system allows each group to configure contribution rules. For example, a group can set monthly benevolent contributions (e.g., KSh 250) and minimum personal savings (e.g., KSh 150). One share can be valued at KSh 150. Members can increase their personal savings contributions at any time through an online request via the member portal or by submitting a Share Increment Form, which the system tracks and records automatically.
Loan Application Workflow: Our system allows the committee to approve loans on a first-come, first-served basis, with full audit trails. Loans can be configured to require at least TWO (2) Guarantors who are active members — however, groups may also allow self-guarantorship of up to 90% of a member's active savings. The proposed loan repayment duration is subject to committee approval, and all decisions are recorded in the system.
Configurable Interest Rates: The platform allows groups to set loan limits (e.g., up to four times a member's savings). Interest accrual is automatically calculated — for example, at a monthly rate of 5% on a reducing balance. Members can see real-time interest calculations and are advised to pay loans in fewer months to pay lower interest — all tracked by the system.
Automated Loan Repayment: The system enforces repayment rules configured by the group — for example, a maximum repayment period of 12 months (subject to committee review). It ensures that no deductions toward loan repayment, interest, and monthly contributions exceed a configured threshold (e.g., two-thirds of one's basic salary). The platform prevents loan topping up and only allows a new loan after full settlement of any outstanding loan and interest.
Automated Loan Recovery: Grace periods, penalty calculation, SMS/email alerts, guarantor claims, savings offset, and blacklisting of defaulters.
Configurable Payout Rules: Our system allows each welfare group to define contribution amounts based on the relationship with the deceased, as outlined in the table below. Members declare their dependants during registration, and the system tracks any updates communicated to the Secretariat with valid justification.
| Relationship | Example Awarded Amount (KSh) |
|---|---|
| Principal Member | 40,000 |
| Spouse | 40,000 |
| Child (6 months -23 yrs) | 40,000 |
| Parents | 20,000 |
| Parents In Law | 20,000 |
*Amounts shown are examples; groups configure their own payout schedules.
Automated Claims Workflow: In the event of death of a member or dependent, a formal notification must be submitted through the welfare system. The platform timestamps the notification and enforces any time-based rules (e.g., within 24 hours). A claim form and supporting documents (ID/Birth Certificate of the deceased) are uploaded and routed to the committee. The system tracks verification and can be configured to settle claims within a specified period (e.g., 72 hours after document verification).
Document Management: After burial, a copy of the burial permit or death certificate is submitted through the system and stored securely for committee records. All documents are versioned and auditable.
